I have loved carving this series of Avett Brothers inspired cups! The fans & friends who have ordered cups have been so awesome to talk to, and it has been fun coming up with ideas for the cups. If you are interested in ordering one, go on and start thinking about your favorite lyrics to include. That seems to have been the most difficult decision for everyone!
Below is the first one of the series prior to firing. If you would like to place an order, please send me an email by using the contact form on this site and we will discuss. If you have a question and aren't sure about ordering, send an email. Please include a phone number if you'd prefer to discuss the idea over the phone. The series will have most of the Avett Brothers albums, and I also carve portraits of the guys (see the vases page for a few examples.) I sell them individually or in sets. Each cup will be $50 - $80 each. A lot of time goes into carving them. Pricing: for these cups, I charge $25/hour for time spent carving and glazing. The Emotionalism cover takes 2.5-3 hours usually and the others are about 2.5 hours.
For the hardcore fans, they are something to cherish forever. They are made of porcelain clay, all signed by me and numbered. If you have a specific request for photos you would like carved, email the image ASAP! I can make these in most colors; however, I prefer to work with black underglaze. I plan on making at least one series of all the albums, so there will be a baby blue Four Thieves Gone, a red and a yellow Gleam, etc. Please email with specific requests.
